Ontem a Princesa da Coroa Mette-Marit da Noruega visitou o local da construção da futura Catedral da Esperança - Håpets Katedral -, em Fredrikstad. Esta Catedral é um projecto que tem como objectivo tornar-se um símbolo espiritual "a partir da transformação, em equipa,  de algo mau em algo bom.", como salientou o Bispo Arle Sommerfeldt.

Yesterday Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway visited the site of the future Cathedral of Hope - Håpets Katedral - in Fredrikstad. This Cathedral is a project that aims to become a spiritual symbol "of the transformation, as a team, from something evil into something good", as Bishop Arle Sommerfeldt pointed out.

Barna må med når Håpets katedral skal bygges. Her møter H.K.H. Kronprinsessen noen av barna som skal bidra til den flytende katedralen på 100M2. Alle barna og Kronprinsessen har skrevet navnet sitt på en plastbit. Bitene skal bli en del av takbildet i Håpets katedral som blant annet blir bygget av plast som skal samles inn under strandrydding over hele landet. #rydde #strand #kongehuset

Mas perguntam vocês: a partir de que mal? Pois é meus amigos, preparem-se para algo inusitado. Este futuro lugar de culto, será construído a partir de resíduos de plástico retirados do Mar da Noruega e com a ajuda de vários artesãos locais e de membros de toda a comunidade. A Catedral será construída numa barcaça e estará principalmente localizada no Parque Nacional Ytre Hvaler, podendo ser transportada para outros locais ao longo da costa. A futura Rainha da Noruega visitou o local e falou com várias pessoas que trabalharão conjuntamente para a construção desta Catedral que terá cerca de 100 metros quadrados e que poderá albergar até 50 pessoas. A Princesa da Coroa também conheceu crianças do jardim de infância da Smertulia. Todas as crianças trouxeram um pedaço de plástico em que escreveram seu nome. A Princesa também escreveu seu nome num pedaço de plástico que recebeu. As peças farão parte da imagem no telhado da catedral.

This future place of worship will be built from plastic waste removed from the Norwegian Sea and with the help of severak local craftsmen and community members. The Cathedral will be built on a barge and will be mainly located in Ytre Hvaler National Park, but it can be transported to other sites along the coast. The future Queen of Norway visited the site and spoke to several people who will work together to build this 100 square meter Cathedral that can accommodate up to 50 people. The Crown Princess also met children from the Smertulia kindergarten. All the children brought a piece of plastic on which they wrote their name. The Princess also wrote her name on a piece of plastic she received. The pieces will be part of the image on the roof of the cathedral.

Este futuro edifico será uma chamada de consciência para a ameaça que os nossas praias e oceanos enfrentam actualmente, perante os resíduos plásticos que todos os dias são despejados para os ecossistemas marítimos. Os plásticos que serão utilizados são fruto de uma colaboração de limpeza das praias, para a qual cooperam várias autoridades públicas, associações, indústrias e a própria família real, inclusive. Prevê-se um aumento do número destas acções de limpeza das praias nos próximos tempos, conferindo também um carácter inter-religioso neste processo, como afirmou a Igreja Norueguesa:

This future building will be a wake-up call to the threat our beaches and oceans face today, given the plastic waste that is dumped every day into marine ecosystems. The plastics that will be used are the fruit of a collaboration of beaches cleaning, to which several public authorities, associations, industries and the royal family cooperate. An increase in the number of these beach clean-up actions is expected in the coming times, also conferring an interreligious character in this process, as stated by the Norwegian Church:

" O ponto de partida é o oceano que é ilimitado e nos liga; tanto nações, continentes e pessoas - independentemente da religião a que pertencemos - ou não. O mar está vivo e é um património comum. Esse legado está agora ameaçado. Devemos salvar o mar, e devemos fazê-lo em conjunto. Queremos um amplo envolvimento em toda a nacionalidade, idade e fé - tanto para a limpeza da praias quanto para a construção. Dessa forma, a Catedral da Esperança irá transformar-se num Projecto de Paz! " 

"The starting point is the ocean that is unlimited and binds us together, whether nations, continents, and people - regardless of which religion we belong to - or not. he sea is alive and is a common heritage. This legacy is now threatened, and we must save it together. We want a broad involvement in all nationality, age and faith - both for the cleanliness of the beaches and for the construction. That way, the Cathedral of Hope will become a Peace Project ! "
